We got kisses from our investigator :)

Another good week :)
I feel like I say that EVERY week but...missionary work makes me happy, and sister Davis is awesome so we have a lot of fun :)
Our week was really busy with meetings and things though.

After I emailed on Tuesday we went and had a lesson with Adrian our investigator. He is SO funny. We were talking about the prophet and we showed him the picture in the ensign from general conference with President Monson and the apostles and he looked at it and said "OHHHH so its like a gang! you got your man guy, the smart guy and the muscle guy.(point to the first presidency) Then you got all his main workers ( pointing to the apostles). But in a gang you have a bunch of soldiers too." then i flipped the magazine open and showed him the Quorum of the 70 and he just busted up laughing. It was really funny.

On Wednesday we had our zone conference..so it was just a long meeting that day, but it was pretty funny. We talked about a lot of things like giving up "weapons of rebellion" and an elder talked about how he at the beginning of his mission was writing 10 girls and how he wrote them all off so he could be more focused. It was really funny. We also had a talk on dress and appearance with our mission presidents wife. Which doesn't sound fun, but at one point she said "bottom-line, just cover up the girls" soooo it was fun too. haha.
That night we also taught Yolanda again, but this time we brought a member of our ward how speaks Spanish and the whole lesson i didn't have a CLUE what was going on haha BUT i think we finally got her to realize she needs Spanish missionaries so that's a plus :)

Thursday not a ton happened, We did teach some people but nothing to exciting. We did teach Jessica and April though. They are so awesome! It never stops amazing me how much they remember and understand about the gospel already. They remember EVERYTHING we teach them. I love it! and they're going to be baptized this Saturday! so keep them in our prayers that everything will go well :)

Friday we did exchanges and It was really nice. I got to work with my mission Grandma :) (my trainers trainer) Sister Hiene. It was really good to take her to see some of the people she had taught in our ward that are now struggling. Its really cool to see the bond people have with the missionaries that teach them.

Saturday was good. the real highlights i think were that we got to teach Adrian again. I love teaching him because its super easy to be really blunt with him, and we can joke around and he doesn't get offended. At one point we were sitting on his curb (we always teach him outside) and he was telling us that he wants to change his life, but he just feels like he needs something to anchor himself to. So i asked if he felt like he needed to change for someone. and he said yes and so i told him to change for Jesus. and he fell back against the sidewalk and yelled "oh you guys are good! you re good" haha it was really funny.
Also later that night a sister Davis asked a little kid if he wanted to be a missionary one day and he looked at he and said "No, i don't want to be a missionary, i want to be a ROCK STAR!"

And Sunday wasn't to uneventful, we had 3 investigator at church, OH and one of my former investigators showed up to church! hes 10 and her name is Janasia but she told us that she missed church so she told her mom (who is also a former) to drop her off. it was really cool!

And that brings us to today :) Thank for all the emails everyone! i love and miss you all so much!

Love Sister Redd

Another Great week,
Sorry i didnt get the chance to write you all yesterday, the libraries were all closed for the holiday.
And im Short on time so im going to just jump right into our week.

Monday....So i went to get a hair cut...and a lady whacked off all my hair. It was a really sad day. Its pretty short now..The shortest ive ever had it...So now i will be growing my hair back out. haha

Tuesday.... So out car broke this week! on Tuesday after our district meeting we had our zone leaders take our bikes to the Ford dealership and we biked for the next two days! it was really fun and we had a lot of really cool experiences and we were definitely the talk of the Ford dealership. Everyone was shocked that we rode off in our skirts. That night we had a lesson with Adrian and we drew the Plan of salvation on the sidewalk. It was really fun and he is hands down the funniest person i have ever taught. Oh and that night sister Davis lost her shoe in the middle of an intersection.

Wednesday... We had a miracle! We were riding our bikes to our dinner when we stopped to debate if we should visit a less active member. When we were talking about it a car went by and started honking at us. The car then Flipped a u-turn and a Guy with tattoos from his finger tips to his jaw jumped out and started coming at us. At first we were pretty nervous but then he yelled out at us "hey are you guys mormon?!" and we were super excited! turns out this guy matt had been going to church for 3 years! and he just wanted a book of mormon, he said he know the Book of Mormon is true and that Jospeh Smith is a prophet! and we're going to start teaching him and his family! WOOO. On Wednesday we also started teaching a woman named Cindy. She is so cool, and already has a baptism date of march 8th!

Thruday...We taugh Adrian again and it was really fun. He is super funny. But im Fairly certian he is eaither in a gang and trying to get out...or is a past gang member. He kept saying things like "I want to change but you know..the people just wont let me" and things about how as a kid people offer you good lives if you do bad things...Pkus he told me that he doesnt wear red and that blue is his color..SO if thats not evidence i dont know what is  haha :) he is a really cool person though.

Friday...Wasnt  super exciting day..just usual things.

Saturday...Exchanges! i got to go on exchanges with Sister Christensen who i was in the MTC with. It was so much fun to be with her for the day. We also got to go and see sister Cobabe and Sister Johnson that day because sister Cobabe is really sick and lives right by sister Christensen. We had a lot of fun seeing each other again.

Sunday...A pretty regular sunday :) We had # investigators at church, Jessica and April (and thier whole family) and Cindy. It was a really great day! We also spent dinner with one of my favortive familes in the ward, we originally just went to drop things off at thier house but then they invited us to stay for "dinner" which was basically just crackers and Chicken salad and candy but it was so fun! We just sat in the living room and chatted. It was a nice change from the usual super filling dinners we have :)

And. Monday again! We didnt have time to write yesterday so me and sister Davis went around and did somethings we dont usually have time to do, like go to asian markets! it was so fun. We got lots of asian candy like pocky, and hello panda, and those little jello cups, and we've been eating those, its been fun. Also last night, we taugh a lesson in ESPANOL! haha okay not really. Just the lady we taught barely speaks english and we barely speak spanish so we were both trying our best to use the little vocabulary we have haha it was really funny. At one point i was trying to find John for her in her spanish Bible and as i was flipping through i was saying "Matthew...Mark...Luke...John, oh Juan!" haha the lady thought it was really funny and laughed at me :)

It was a great weeek though and we had lots of fun, despite my sad haircut :) ill sent some picture so you can see some of our week!

Love you all

BEST WEEK EVER

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK!!!

We have really seen the blessings of God hastening his work this week.

So i cant wait till the end of my letter because I'm so excited about this but we found 8 new investigators to teach this week! and we started teaching an old investigator again, and found an investigator for the Spanish missionaries and we've been teaching an investigators Dad because he sits in on the lessons and came to church but hasn't agreed to actually take the lessons yet! So basically miracles happened! Wooo!!!!

SO i just go through some highlights of other funny/ awesome things that happened this week.

Tuesday: We found 2 new investigators that day and started teaching Susan's husband again. That was really cool, but in one of our lessons our new investigator (Adrian) was being super weird and wouldn't let us inside so we taught outside and me and Sister Davis wanted to sit down so i sat on this bench and sister Davis sat on the ground, and we were hoping that Adrian would sit down on the bench or ground but then he didn't and just stood and it ended up being really awkward haha but oh well.

Wednesday: We found 2 more new investigators! Im really excited about these to girls because thier mom is a less active member and she wants to come back. So we started teaching them and we set baptismal dates with the girls for march 1st and they are both really excited for that! YAY! OH also we had someone call us on accident this week and so we called them back and they told us they just dialed wrong but sister Davis just said " well..here's a question for you...Were missionaries....." and bacially she set up a lesson over the phone! Shes a Rock star!

Thursday: We had missionary leadership council. Which essentially is a super boring meeting geared toward Zone leaders that Sister Training Leaders are just supposed to come to. And the whole time the sisters just sat and chatted and passed notes, it was actually pretty fun. Oh and at lunch sister Davis opened a pudding cup and the lid had a big smiley face and she was all excited and later said "my chocolate pudding smiled at me today" It was funny. We also got to go for dinner at Olive garden with another companionship of sister that were at the meeting too and a member  paid for it!

Friday: We had a bunch of meetings again to help zone leaders in other zones know that to do to help their sisters. We did have a funny conversation with a VERY less active member. He kept asking about the "Mormon bible" and "holy underwear" and ended with saying he wanted bible studies....So we passed him off to some YSA elders :)

Saturday: We went on exchanges....They were ROUGH. The missionaries we went with were definitely not diligent missionaries to put it nicely.. We we first went to their house to switch, we found a HUGE prank in their room. They had gotten in a prank war with someone (they wouldn't say who) and their room was filled from wall to wall with sand and a kiddie pool. Which yes is super cool/funny. But the members they live with had been cleaning it for like 5 hours and we had to help too. Ill send some pictures of us mid cleaning.  There were lots of other problems but i wont go into that..
I found a really cool family though, we were walking to the car and there were 2 guys playing super loud music and washing cars and so went over to talk to them and gave our little intro about how we are missionaries and they said they had taken the lessons before and that they had almost gotten baptized but unexpectedly moved to the desert and didn't know where the church was! That was 2 years ago but we set up an appointment for tonight and he told me  "who knows! maybe this time ill actually get baptized!" it was so awesome!
Also, when we went to go to another lesson with our investigator Adrian he asked if we could "Hoodwalk" for our lesson that day.. may you know what that means...but i did not. He laughed and explained that is just meant walking in the neighborhood and so we had a lesson where we all held book of Mormons and walked around the neighborhood reading them. It was actually awesome! He really started to understand the book of Mormon and how to read it.

Sunday: 3 investigators at church! and like 8 non-members! it was a great day at church. After church was good too because we went straight to a potentials and taught him on his door step and he was pretty excited about the book of Mormon! so another new investigator! and then that night we taught a less active woman and her 3 daughters and it went really well. They've had the lessons before and were almost baptized but said the timing wasn't right. So who knows maybe it will happen this time!

SO basically it was a miracle week! it was so awesome to see how the Lord is preparing people for us to teach, we just need to find them :)

i Love you all and miss you so much...
Sorry this is so long...

Pictures

Most of these are just me and sister johnson being goofy.
I cant remeber which order theyre in but one is of susans Baptism,

"no hoax could be this complicated"

This was a great week, much different then what i am typically used to.

The new calling i have has made things a little different, but things are going so well!

So first off my new companion's name is SIster Davis, im not sure if i told you guys that last week, but she is AWESOME! this is her last transfer and i have already learned so much form her. She is an incredible missionary and im way excited to work with her more.

At the beginning of the week almost nothing got done. As Sister Training leaders, we are in charge of looking out for nad going on exchanges with & companionships. So one Tuesday and Wednesday most of our time was taken up with visiting/meeting all of our sisters and with training meetings, which made for very little work getting done. But it was really fun to visit with so many sisters.

On Friday we had a church tour with lance! We have been trying for weeks to get him to come to church, and we finally got him to the building! he didnt come to church, but it was still a HUGE step for him! The tour was great, we showed him all the rooms and explained what happens at church, and talked about a few of the pictures in the building. We ended in the Chapel though and when we went in you could feel the spirit SO strong. Sister Davis explained the sacrament and then i asked Lance how he felt (he was extremely nervous about coming to church) and he just sat and thought about it for a minute and said, "i feel really good. Very peaceful." It was such a good experience :)

On saturday i went on my first Exchange! i went with sister Higbee, the sister i stayed with when we were waiting for our greenies. We had a ton of fun. We spent almost the whole day just street contacting and tracting and it was a blast! We meet a few people who just wanted to yell at us, which stunk, but it made for funny stories.  Over all we had a ton of fun.

Yesterday was good. I woke up pretty sick though. I had a fever and a cold and an ear ache and a bunch of other stuff. But me and sister Daivs decided to go out and knock doors anyways, and its was awesome! we set up tons of return appointments. I love the super Bowl, because everyone was home and you could hear them yelling inside so they couldnt hide! At one house this lady answered the door and we asked for her son daniel. She assumed we were his friends from work, and grabbed my hand an pulled me into the house. Then thier 3 HUGE dogs jumped on us and were licking al over us haha it was hilarious. Then we talked for a minute and then asked my name and i siad "uhh sister redd...im actually a missionary, i dont really know your son, were just looking for him because he requested a book of mormon a while back" She was taken so off gaurd it was awesome! but she was still really nice :)

Over all it was a pretty good week minus the being sick.

I love and miss you all!
